How to Apply | International M.A. in Education

How to Apply

Application forms are submitted online. The application fee is paid by credit card (in US dollars).

Please read the instructions for the online application carefully and make sure to use the correct application form for the International School (the same site includes the application for the general university community).

Applications are processed only after you confirm your "Final Submission.”

Information for international students about visa and permit matters is available on the website of the International Office.

Before you start filling the application form please prepare the following documents, and see the additional instructions below:

  • CV/Resume.

  • Undergraduate diploma and other diplomas you may have.

  • Academic transcripts (with the grading scale page).

  • A passport photo for student ID.

  • Two recommendation letters: the system will provide a separate email address to which your referees can send the letters.

  • Scan of your passport photo page as proof of identity.

  • Statement of purpose addressed to the Melton Centre for Jewish Education: melton-centre@savion.huji.ac.il.

  • Credit card number to pay the $110 application fee.

  • Proof of exemption from English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL or IELTS certificate), if English is not your mother tongue.

After submitting the application through the website, you must wait for an answer from the Admissions Committee. The committee will discuss each application on a case-by-case basis; in some situations, they might ask you for supplementary information or for an interview (face-to-face or online).

Application Process for Students with an Undergraduate Degree from Outside Israel

  1. Create an account here.

  2. Log in with your new username and password.

  3. Choose the option for applicants with overseas qualifications

  4. Choose program 245 – M.A. in Education

  5. Fill in the application form.

  6. Upload required documents and recommendations.

  7. Pay the application fee.

  8. Submit the application.

  9. Wait for a confirmation email to verify that the application was submitted correctly.

Remember: applications are processed only after you press "Final Submission” and get a confirmation e-mail.

Application Process for Students with an Undergraduate Degree from an Israeli Institution

Stage 1: University Application

  1. Create an account here.

  2. Choose the program: M.A. in Education – 245.

  3. Pay the application fee.

  4. Wait for a confirmation email.

Stage 2: School of Education Application

  1. Create an account here.

  2. Log in with your new username and password.

  3. Choose to apply with an undergraduate diploma from a university in Israel.

  4. Choose program 245 – M.A. in Education.

  5. Fill in the application form.

  6. Upload required documents and recommendations.

  7. Submit the application.

  8. Wait for a confirmation email to verify that the application was submitted correctly.

Remember: applications are processed only after you press "Final Submission” and get a confirmation e-mail.

I received an acceptance letter, now what?

First, confirm that you received the acceptance letter by replying to the notification to the Program Director.

You will receive further instructions on how to proceed with tuition payment and how to log into the distance learning system. (These instructions can also be found here.)

The acceptance decision is valid for two years from the date of notification of acceptance. Students who do not start the M.A. program within this period will have to resubmit their candidacy.
