He was born and raised in Los Angeles and made aliyah to Israel when he was 24. In Israel he developed a career spanning more than 25 years as a foundation executive with two of the largest private philanthropies in the country – as the Deputy Director of the French-based Sacta-Rashi Foundation (1993 – 2005) and the Director of the U.S.-based Schusterman Foundation - Israel (2006 – 2017). He co-chaired the Forum of Foundations in Israel – a professional organization with a membership of over 90 foundation representatives. He is a lecturer in foundation management in the Hebrew University's MA program in nonprofit management and the Melton School for Jewish Learning.
He has a BA in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of California, San Diego and a Master of Science in Management from Boston University / Ben-Gurion University. He currently live in Hawaii on the Big Island with my wife Yael where we own and operate a small bakery.
